These terms are not final yet. Smashing English is in testing. Below is a plain description of what the service does and what it records. When the full terms are published, the version number above changes and we will ask you to agree again.

What the service is

An English tutor you talk to. You speak or type, Laura replies, and she points out anything worth correcting. Lessons are practice — they are not an exam and they do not lead to a qualification.

What is recorded

What you say in a lesson, what Laura says back, and the corrections she makes. She also keeps short notes on the mistakes that come up more than once, so she does not correct the same thing from scratch every week. You can read those notes on your account page, and clear them there whenever you like.

Money

Lessons are paid for in credits, and the page shows what a minute costs before you start and while you are talking. You can cancel a plan at any time from your account page.

Under 18

A student under 18 needs a parent or guardian to agree before any lesson can start. The account can be created, but nothing runs until that agreement is given.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from your account page. That removes what you said, what Laura said, and everything she remembered about you.
